Birdy Wei-ting Hung (she/her) is an M.F.A. Candidate at the School of Cinema, San Francisco State University. She has screened at the University of California Berkeley Art Museum Pacific Film Archive, the San Francisco Independent Film Festival, and the Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan. Her research interests include affect theory, critical race theory, gender and sexuality, and the abject. Birdy has published in the online journal cinemedia. She is a contributing author to Aaron Kerner’s book, Abject Pleasures in the Cinematic: The Beautiful, Sexual Arousal, and Laughter (Edinburgh University Press, 2023).
